Kedarnath, Uttarakhand – The serene pilgrimage to Kedarnath has turned into a harrowing ordeal for many pilgrims, including a group of Kannadigas from Bangalore, who now find themselves caught between relentless rains and devastating landslides triggered by cloudbursts. The natural calamity has wreaked havoc across several areas of Kedarnath, leaving the pilgrims in distress and disarray.

A group of 15 friends from various parts of Bangalore, who had embarked on a journey to Kedarnath in search of both natural beauty and spiritual blessings, now find themselves in a precarious situation. Six members of this group have lost contact, causing immense anxiety among their companions. Some of the pilgrims, having survived on biscuits for two to three days due to the lack of proper food, have been rescued by emergency teams. Five individuals from this group have been safely relocated by the rescue forces, while the remaining pilgrims wait anxiously at designated rescue points along with other stranded individuals.

In a parallel narrative, another group of 20 pilgrims from Bangalore, who had set out on a package tour to Kedarnath, has managed to reach safety with the assistance of rescue forces. However, the group is troubled by the fact that one member remains unreachable. Despite their relief at having reached a safe location, their concern for their missing companion looms large as they share their harrowing experiences during the pilgrimage.

The heavy rains, arriving even before the official monsoon season, have thrown the northern region of Uttarakhand into chaos. Local police and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams are working tirelessly to rescue the stranded pilgrims in Kedarnath. The Kannada pilgrims who left from Bangalore are now safe at rescue locations, eagerly awaiting the opportunity to return home as soon as possible.

Rescue operations are ongoing, with authorities striving to bring all stranded individuals to safety amidst challenging conditions.
